Translation and transcription from Spanish, Portuguese and Brazilian Portuguese into English.
I am a fully qualified translator with over 10 years of experience, with an MA in Translation from the University of Bristol and membership of both the CIOL (Chartered Institute of Linguists), where I am registered as a Chartered Linguist, and the ITI (Institute of Translation and Interpreting). I offer fast delivery of well-written and exciting translations. I specialise in translating Spanish and Portuguese, especially Brazilian Portuguese, into English, and also offer subtitling from Portuguese for an English-speaking audience.
Born in the UK, I have travelled extensively in Europe and Latin America, including periods living in Portugal, Brazil and Costa Rica. In Brazil, I founded a charity that has now been working with disadvantaged children and families in a slum area outside Belo Horizonte for over 25 years. I am now based back in the UK, but remain the main point of contact for the charity with their English-speaking supporters and regularly do pro bono translation for them.
I have a particular interest in translating material regarding sustainable development and charitable enterprises. I also love writing for the travel and tourism industry, being passionate about travel and cultural experiences myself.
In addition to creative translation work, I also offer translation of certificates and academic transcripts, and can assist with notarising certificates too.
