Italian term or phrase: atto no ...
In an Italian marriage certificate, following the date of birth of the parties, in brackets there is "Atto no" followed by the number. Could you please give me your view on translating "atto" as "record" or "entry" and not "document". I am assuming, too, that the information slots that follow, marked only by the initial p...and s...
refer, respectively to "Parte" änd "Sezione" del registro dell''anagrafe.

Help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks to everyone for their contribution to clariftying these terms. I think in context "record" is the best definition, since in the first instance the reference is to the register, rather than to the certificate. that is issued based on the register.
