English translation: have Joint / combined display

German to English translations [PRO] Bus/Financial - Marketing / Market Research
German term or phrase:sich geballt präsentieren
In Halle 20 präsentieren sich Solar-Anbieter und der Verband Solar xx in einem Gemeinschaftsstand. Auch die PV-Anbieter und der Verband Photovoltaic xx präsentieren sich geballt an einem Standort in Halle 20.
This not about a joint booth. The sentence simply means that all these exhibitors (PV systems, Solar Association..) are located in the same hall. 4 KudoZ points were awarded for this answer
Don't get me wrong. I know that you know what there is to know about CSP (I was tempted to use a few more "know" in there).
In my experience, which is to say I've edited news pieces about solar thermal, it is not recommended to use CSP in this way, even though I understand your point.
To me, it always seemed more like Gandalf's shall-not-pass command than Obama's red line speech (ouch, that hurt). Your SEO department won't like it either.
Apart from this, though, I'd say that just like "pool" + "impact" and "out in force," your "concentrate" + "power" is a better description of "geballt" than combined, joint or whatever. But maybe they're all chained together.
In other news, I hope you don't feel chained to your desk and will be able to enjoy your weekend. Time is a rare commodity these days.
Ein Blick auf den Übersichtsplan jener Messe zeigt übrigens, dass es sich tatsächlich um einen Gemeinschaftsstand handelt. Der genannte Verband, fünf Unternehmen der Branche und ein Branchenmagazin sind alle am selben Stand zu finden.
I was just trying to consciously allude to the 'geballt' notion, so please understand my 'concentrated' suggestion in a more general/marketing sense, rather than just referring to CSP systems/plants :-)
I will have to disagree with you about your second suggestion. There are three common categories: CSP, PV and solar thermal (as in smaller-size systems than CSP ones); you shouldn't try to combine these somehow.
I think you've misread the sentence. It does say "...an einem Standort in Halle..." and this is about a Gemeinschaftsstand. I have the proof right here: http://www.pvaustria.at/gemeinschaftsstand-2018/
Additionally, "booth" is AmE usage and while "joint" may be understood, Ramey's "shared/sharing" is much better (e.g., "shared exhibit[ion] space").
Also, I'm wondering whether everyone knows what a Gemeinschaftsstand looks like. E.g.: "Ein Gemeinschaftsstand wird meist im Rahmen eines Förderprojektes von Bund oder Ländern angeboten. Hier werden mehrere 'Start-Ups' bzw. neue junge innovative Unternehmen mit produkt- und verfahrensmäßigen Neuentwicklungen in einem vom Veranstalter organisierten Bereich präsentiert, der wiederum in einzelne kleinere Messestände unterteilt ist."
This would have been the more interesting question, actually. There's only one KudoZ entry about this and I don't like the outcome or most of the suggestions.
Just a few mins ago, I had a second look at this question. Had you not gotten an agreement to offset the unwarranted one, I would have done so already.
First off, does anyone else have a problem with these stupid Captcha windows? They show up so frequently that I'm starting to think I really must be a robot :-/
Second, I don't agree with Allegro; this isn't supposed to sound like a closing argument in a courtroom.
Third, I don't understand Phil here. If it's another way of saying "Gemeinschaftsstand"--well, look what we got there as the last word of the previous sentence. I thought you were opposed to repetitive statements?
Side note: BFE is...in Egypt. The other two words aren't important. Just think about sand. And more sand. And pyramids :)
As you say, Ramey. This is a marketing text in which the author seeks to create an impression of dynamic synergy.

It's really difficult NOT

to get a little paranoid when professional translators refer to dictionary definitions as a basis to negate/criticize a suggestion. This is a MARKETING text, hence it demands the forcefulness behind the word 'geballt'. Since I very well cannot use such related words as clenched (geballte faust), ominous (geballte Ladung), looming (geballte Wolken), eruptive (geballte Wut/Zorn), I chose something less threatening, albeit with impact. Where's Björn when you need him?

build/create/have installed an impressive unified presentation
Explanation: More revealing, I believe is how you translate the verb "presentieren"
