Slowing down with large font adaptation?

Am I seeing things or does Trados slow down significantly with large font adaptation? There were possibly other factors at play, but font size 18 seemed to slow it down much more than 16 for a long while until I set it back. Is it likely to be a permanent effect or shoould I just wait it out?
