For the great ebook manager calibre there exists a demo document at https://calibre-ebook.com/downloads/demos/demo.docx This nice document can be used to compare the user interfaces of CAT tools. Example of text formatting: Representation in CafeTran Espresso 10: (A full size version of the screenshot can be downloaded here ) On a small, 13 inch computer, with source view: (A full size version of the screenshot can be downloaded here )

This shows the classic three-pane view, but you can move all the panes around and add or remove panes, e.g. machine translation pane, dictionary pane, etc. Plus you can opt to show only the source text, only translated text, both source and translated text, and opt to change the highlighting colour, etc. The screenshot above is from OmegaT 5. I also tried to take a screenshot in OmegaT+, but I couldn't get OmegaT+ on my Windows 10 computer to open a project. Perhaps OmegaT+ doesn't work on Windows 10 (or perhaps my version of Java is too recent). I'm not even sure if OmegaT+ can edit DOCX files. OmegaT+ is an old project that split off from OmegaT in the year 2010, and it hasn't been updated since.

Virtaal can't translate DOCX files but it can view XLIFF files. It can also translate certain XLIFF files, but I would not trust it with SDLXLIFF or TXLF or MXLIFF files myself (the project has not seen any development for years). What's interesting is how different two XLIFF files look in Virtaal: View of SDLXLIFF file It doesn't get a fuzzy match from the previous segment, but instead shows matches from the Amagama public TM. View of TXLF file It gets a fuzzy match from the previous segment.

Online Offline You can also download an MXLIFF file from the web-based interface and translate it in an offline MemSource Editor. This editor can't convert DOCX directly -- it can only edit XLF files that the online system generated.

Unfortunately, XTM always maximises the window, and you can't resize it (well, if you do, the content does not resize along with it, so you can no longer see all content, e.g. you can't see where to type), and my monitor is quite large. The same applies to zooming in -- the content does not dynamically adjust when you zoom in, so if you zoom in, you can no longer see all content. | | |
