Our team comprises more than 30 professional English to Chinese (PRC), 20 English to Chinese (HK) and 20 Chinese to English translators, 2 project managers, as well as 5 DTP specialists, and it is still growing. All translators have more than 5 years , and DTP Specialists have more than 3 years of working experiences, and we all have the Background of working in the world-class translation and localization companies. And all have their specialty areas.

Translation Quality Control Process

1. Pre-analysis on translation projects: we will perform translation analysis before starting any translation projects, in order to find the most suitable persons to perform the translation and to search for the related terminology, reference materials, and other helpful sources.

2. Translation: After that, we’ll select the most suitable candidates to start the work, in which we will provide them with clear instructions, a TM/glossary, reference materials etc. During the translation process, we will monitor their translation progress and will always ask them to deliver batch-to-batch in order for us to check the overall quality.

3. Review/proofreading: After the translation, our editor/proofreader will perform the editing/proofreading work in order to check the quality of original translation and for quality feedback to be sent me. The editor/proofreader will be responsible for improving the accuracy, fluency, grammar, spelling, consistency of translation etc.

4. Formatting/DTP: After that, the DTP specialist will perform the necessary formatting/DTP work to ensure that the layout of the translation is completely the same as that of the original text.

5. Linguistic Signoff/QA: The last step is the final Linguistic Signoff/QA. The quality, translation style, and layout of the final texts are always checked, in which we make all of the necessary revisions on the final texts to ensure the utmost quality. If our clients request for us to perform QA (usually localization projects), we can also provide a QA report to them.

Desktop Publishing (DTP)

We provides multilingual desktop publishing service, has advanced and sophisticated computer processing system, has the ability to use multiple graphic software and publishing software, including FrameMaker, PageMaker, QuarkXpress, Illustrator, Freehand, CorelDraw, MS Word and Powerpoint, and can effectively handle various source files, like those generated with tools like Framemaker, Pagemaker, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop or MS Word. We can rearrange the composition of the translated version according to the specific demands in China’s market or as demanded by the client. We can also provide clients with multilingual DTP and desktop publishing service targeting local or overseas market.

 DTP Process

1. Project Kick-off
<?xml:namespace prefix = v ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:vml" />  Project manager studies the clients' source files and requirements and proposes a suitable solution.
  Clients confirm our solution and quotation and issue a formal Purchase Order/Confirmation.
2. Project Preparation
  Project manager checks source files to make sure that they are in good shape and all fonts and images are complete and correct.
  Project manager selects the best fonts for the target characters to match the source layout style and creates a sample PDF file to confirm the format details with clients.
  Project manager prepares DTP working environment and project instructions; ensures that the software versions are compatible among clients, printing house and DTP team.
3. Project Implementation
  DTP engineers begin the DTP process with the corresponding software.
  DTP proofreaders double check all details according to the project instructions and our internal standards. DTP engineers make changes based on the proofreading comments.
4. Quality Assurance (QA)
  DTP QA engineers perform spot-checks on the work during the DTP process to find problems at an early stage.
  DTP QA engineers double check the entire DTP product according to client's instructions and our internal quality criteria.
  DTP Engineers implement corrections based on the QA comments.
5. Project Sign-off
  Another DTP proofreader carries out the final check to make sure all the requirements have been executed correctly.
  Project manager delivers the final DTP files to clients using the designated method.
6. Project Summary
  Project manager studies client's feedback and performs a project summary among team members.
  Project manager works out feasible solutions to improve service quality with the whole team.
