Om mig

Based in Venice, Italy, I have been working in a variety of business areas since 1991. Early work included:
- the world's largest optical telescope "VLT" (for the "European Southern Observatory";
- Gruppo Coin (Italian retail chain): the group's financial statements and copy for 10 years;
- earliest book translated (The life of Leopoldo Mandic'): 1990.

With a UK degree in Economics (1983) and a keen reader of business, politics and history, I am specialised in advertising, marketing, copy writing and various areas of culture and general knowledge.

Current key accounts:
- Sole English translator/copywriter for Italy's state railways ("Ferrovie dello stato"): www.trenitalia.com and its related linked sites.
- Sole English translator/copywriter for Italy's motorways ("Autostrade per l'Italia"): www.autostrade.it.

Publishers for whom I have translated books and catalogues include: Mondadori, Elemond, Electa, Skira, Sperling & Kupfer, and my great friends, Light Hunter Publications (Cortina d'Ampezzo), for whom I have been translating books on culture, photography, tourism and the Dolomites mountains for well over ten years.)

I have worked - whether directly or indirectly - for Edison, Coin, Benetton, Trenitalia, Porsche, Audi, Oviesse, Marzotto, Venice Airport, Veneto regional and provincial administrations, Italy's national tourist board (ENIT), many large hotels, international law firms, sportswear manufacturers and retailers (Lotto Sport Italia, The North Face).

I work for the British Foreign & Commonwealth Office as Honorary Consul but also, when necessary, as a local-events organiser. Here I provide language support (translation, interpreting through top local interpreters).

I think up engaging solutions (hopefully!) for web sites into English every day.
