Source text - English The origin of the name Titicaca is unknown. It has been translated as "Rock Puma," as local communities have traditionally interpreted the shape of the lake to be that of a puma hunting a rabbit. "Titicaca" combines words from the local languages Quechua and Aymara. The word is also translated as "Crag of Lead." Locally, the lake goes by several names. Because the southeast quarter of the lake is separate from the main body (connected only by the Strait of Tiquina), the Bolivians call it Lago Huiñaymarca (Quechua: Wiñay Marka) and the larger part Lago Chucuito. In Peru, these smaller and larger parts are referred to as Lago Pequeño and Lago Grande, respectively.

Tem-se traduzido como “Pedra do Puma”, já que as comunidades locais têm tradicionalmente interpretado o formato do lago como sendo o de um puma caçando um coelho. "Titicaca" é uma combinação de palavras das línguas locais Quíchua e Aimará. A palavra também é traduzida como “Penhasco de Chumbo”. Localmente, o lago possui diversos nomes. Since a young age, I have dreamed and got excited about learning new cultures and different languages. After I learned English I started studying Japanese and then French and Spanish, which I'm still studying. After getting my degree in Psychology (State University of Londrina), in order to help paying the bills I've got into the translation business through an agency, and it was a life changing experience!
Even though at the beginning I didn't start right away dedicating fully myself to it, later I've realized that translating and studying new languages is the most meaningful and joyful experience I could ever wish for!
