Tech/Engineering - Telekom(munikation) / TV antennas | | Franska term eller fras: antenne "râteau" | | A distinction is being made here between the traditional, TV roof aerial and a parabolic antenna (as in shape). "Rake" is such a great visual description of the TV aerial but it's just not what we say in English. Any ideas or should I just stick with "traditional TV aerial". |

Directional antennas, such as the Yagi-Uda, are also commonly referred to as beam antennas or high-gain antennas (particularly for transmitting).
