I think this has nothing to do with being ethical right or wrong, otherwise it would be unethical too to use a dictionary, same thing.
If the same people who were bidding on the job answering these questions than this is just their own way to make money. Interesting philosophy but it does not hurt me nor anybody else!
didn´t I say this nice (-;
It is up to each one of us to answer a kudoz question. | | | Robert Donahue (X) Ryska till Engelska + ... It's pretty shady, I'll admit. | May 16, 2005 |
I can't say whether it's ethical or not, but in my opinion it's borderline unethical behavior. I wouldn't do it.
Something that annoys me far more though is that this individual (non-registered, non-platinum, etc) is using the site to increase his/her chances of getting a job to for which they are clearly not qualified. The kicker is that they don't specify that the question being asked is from a test.

Non-registered members should not be allowed to view the job postings. That's my opinion, but I am reasonably certain that I'm not alone. ▲ Collapse | | | juvera Local time: 16:55 Engelska till Ungerska + ... I understand, but... | May 20, 2005 |
I understand, that it is hurtful to see, that somebody with little or no knowledge on a subject is trying to get a job with the help of those far better qualified to do it.
But if that is the case, you could have applied for that job with much better chance. Moreover, if this person is so inept, then most likely he is not going to get this job, because he is going to make boo-boos elswhere in his test translation. (If it is a properly run test, that is.)

I am not hopeless, but it is quite possible, that I would put a question on KudoZ, if for nothing else, but to reassure myself about some problem I encountered in a test.
You don't necessarily know, before you apply, what you are getting.
The ethics come into it, what happens afterwards. If the test proves, that it is a subject I should not tackle, then I would not. But I would still ask the question, because I couldn't stop myself wanting to know the answer.
I agree with:

Well, you are not alone, but anyone can register, so it would be useless to make a rule about it.
The problem is, that nobody can police other people's conscience.
